Sept 2005 Discoveries!

September: Changes ......He has started to babble much more now, had another set of shots and goes back at 15 months for more, caught on well to understanding what we are saying to him, asks for things he wants by sounds/gestures. He has slept better most nights but still aren’t predictable...flirts with everyone...likes to follow me everywhere…especially when I vacuum. Obsessed with the vacuum. He likes to walk by himself and wants to be in control of where he goes. He points at every tree, stops at every leaf, windmill, piece of trash…. loves to climb steps and go down the slide. He has begun to copy when we say no and point.
Highlights for Aug/Sept: Likes legos and building toys that he can tear apart after we put together,
Loves to open and close things....Talking seems to have more meaning behind it although still babbles....Still has dance moves!...Copies what we do....More laughter....Likes to bite me and head butt me:)

Summer 2005

August/September: Well it took some time getting used to being with Cameron 24/7 again….He is sooooo on the go! Now that I have taken time off I am sooo happy! I don’t miss work one bit...not that lots would-I love being with him. We take walks with Zion, play with toys, go swim, go to the beach, go shopping, and go out to eat. We're going to swim lessons and a play class. He loves all the other kids….just stares at them and smiles. Ocassionally a friend drops by and I even get a night out...believe it or not. I dedicated this blog to more of a focus around Cameron so please know it isn't all there is behind the scenes....most of it is but not all of it ha!

One Year Old!! July 2005

July
Wow so much changes week to week with him! He is officially walking all over the place…at times running! He maks many laps around the house! We close all the doors to the rooms and he roams free as can be! He likes to walk around the dining room table and poop discretely or not so discretely with grunting noises! He and Zion play with each other tug o war with the dog toys. I think he wins most times as he drags him around the floor. Grandma and Grandpa Gordon babysat you on the Fourth of July while we went for a bike ride and had lunch with friends. We then took him to a friends house in Del Mar for a BBQ –he was really good until the fireworks came. He didn’t like them and he was very tired. He laughs and sometimes breathes like a puppy….and also makes a lil ehhh noise when he doesn't like something or when we say no. Our doctor thinks you might have tongue tie but seeing as you stick your tongue out more often than not I think she is crazy. Never even heard of it....think she is trying to think of things to make me worry about ha! He has gone with dad to beach and pool, walks etc. and has taken such good care of him! He has loved getting having boy time I think! I finally finished my last week of school and made about 4 trips with boxes from work to home with all my stuff from my classroom. Chris is working from home too so it is nice to get time all together. He has graduated to trying new foods slowly and has been having more teeth popping through! We took him up to see grandma and grandpa Skime and he got to meet his great Auntie Cindi and Uncle Leo. They had lots of surprises for him for his first birthday and we all went out to dinner-they ordered a big cookie with ice cream and a candle for him! He liked the ice cream and waved his arms for more! July 31st offically one years old. We also celebrated with Gordon family too and got them to wear hats..the things you do!
Highlights: Still looks around at everything...Tons of toys…likes everything else though....Not so sure about other kids and them touching him..Screeches/babbles...Makes noises to get to sleep ...
Went swimming and under the water....dances to music-bops up and down....Fearless-walks off things....Lots of teeth coming in...Claps hands....Hair is white blonde and slowly coming in....Big blue eyes that catch everyones attention:)

More Milestones-June 2005

June
Cameron is growing before our very eyes….he has sprouted more teeth everyday! Front top and bottoms and even getting side ones. He babbles and says mama at times…he grunts when he looks at books…heavy concentration! We may have a reader in the family yet! He has surfed the walls and furniture but is now almost walking. He definitely can take many a step on his own and he has no fear of just going for it. Chris takes him everywhere-he is so good when he is out and such a spaz at home! Easier to get out and do things! He has learned how to wave. I grab his toes and say “this little piggy ..” and he laughs and giggles-is very ticklish! Grandpa and Grandma Skime stopped by on their way back from Minnesota-they had to him. They have taken so many pics and videos of him-which is nice for us! We went to the park for Father’s Day and put him in a bucket swing-he seemed to like it…gotta get him to a gym as he loves to climb and explore all the time! I put in for my leave and have a month of school left-looking forward to spending time with him and just doing more things! We also went to the fair.

Found a Rental-May 2005

May
We found a place to rent after much trial and tribulation! We looked at the place we will have and at first didn’t get it due to Zion and his size so we talked to another guy up the street. We had given him a check….in the meantime the place we really wanted came through so we told the other guy we changed our minds and was he ever mad!.... So we gave him some money for the trouble but went with the first guy. The place we got is one level and the other would have been 2 and wood floors. It is in a beautiful area! We can walk to the beach/parks. Chris can surf to his hearts content or at least be close enough to! Of course moving 30 miles of from our friends again changes the dynamics of our friendships....I guess it was to be expected. Cameron has a cute room still and a it is the perfect size for us right now.
Highlights for May and June: Steps on his own and almost walking, lots more teeth tops bottoms and a side one, waves hi/bye..babbles-says ma ma, Interested in everything...We have a game that I take the pacifier and put it in my mouth-hetakes it and puts it in his..after a few times he switched it and took it out of his and put it in mine....yeah I know dumb to you but funny way to pass the time.....

Now Home With Dad....April 2005

April
Couch surfing graduate…now onto dive bombing and standing.....
He tried out the pool, loves the bath…loves to be naked and knows it is bath time and will crawl straight to the tub.
Chris stopped his job and will contract with his partner now…..he is home with Cameron so no daycare. Our house is now in escrow (after 5 offers on the table) and we are rental hunting. We thought about what is happening with our lives right now and if we saw ourselves in the house for the next 12 years...decided it would be best to get out now while market is good). I haven’t said anything to work about taking the next year off to stay home with Cameron but it is also in the plans. It is time I want to make a priority and would never regret taking it-he is worth every cent I won’t make for awhile. YChris has been taking him and the dog on lots of walks, to the beach, on errands….he would have you surfing already if it were up to him....not sure how much work is being accomplished!!

Highlights: Couch surfing graduate…now onto dive bombing and standing and making me age quickly as a result...heart attack?!...Tried out the pool, loves the bath, Dad home with him- many outings for them and the dog!

March 2005-Cam is just getting started!

March:
Cameron now has two bottom teeth-chompers! He likes to grab my face/hair and tries to bite my chin….sharp suckers.
On my break I definitely had to get used to how active he was and now I know why he tired out the daycare people! Active is an understatement. A lady at daycare came up to me and said “you’re son is all over the place!” They said he wanted to be out where all the action is.
He loves to be free and go couch surfing and let out a few babbles and screeches.
Grandma and Grandpa Gordon babysat him while we camped in Mexico one night. First night away all night from Cameron…think they were tired with his 4am wake up as well as the other ones throughout the night.
Took him to the emergency room as we thought you had an ear infection......but he didn't.

On the go! Feb 2005

February:
Cameron has been growing and doing more things and sleeping less! At daycare he doesn't seem to need to sleep they say ha! Spaz!
He is about to crawl but for now has crawled backwards…spins, rolls.....if there is a will there is a way! We are entertaining the thought of selling our house to rent for a while so that one of us can be at home with you for awhile. Gotta love the first picture...the infamous "poop face"

Highlights:Daycare easier but not first choice...
Crawling backwards, spin in circles, tips over and rolls...babble, squeal, smile and laugh..decided to poop many times throughout the day! first tooth popped through...2/16 just about crawling forward now...6 month shots-only cried a little:17 lbs! They showed him off in office!...Okay you are a pooping mad man….stinky butt!
In a weeks time he took off crawling! Into everything your not supposed to be and cannot look away for a minute…man on the go all day without stopping!

New Year and New Changes-Jan.2005

I savored every last minute with Cameron knowing I had to bring him to daycare. I guess since I lived in denial it was fine until reality crashed in and I cried for days! I was so sad to have to leave him even though he was fine. We decided to put him in Children's World which was about half hour past where I worked but worth it to me since my friend Lisa had her son there so I knew he was still alive! Grandpa and Grandma Skime helped make the transition easier by watching him a day or two during the week to break up the hours I worried! Seems silly but I was so used to taking care of him 24/7. I packed away all his 0-3 month clothes in a tub and he is in the 6-9 month ones…with still a full closet. He has gotten several colds from the snotty nosed kids at daycare…definite drawback. He had his first official feeding session with baby food.
Highlights:Teething is making him get up every couple hours-making me wrecked by morning...
sucks one or both thumbs at times, loves nap routine-god forbid you interrupt it!...have mastered the fake cry and now the manipulations have begun! ...Chris suggested we let him cry it out at bedtime as he wasn't asleep after his bottle….hated hearing him and I cried because I wanted to grab him up! He went a good 25 min. and had passed out sideways in his crib...I think I did then too..., wants to have magazines when I read them to scrunch up the pages, and discovered the remote with all it’s wonderous buttons....man thing?...lays on stomach and kicks legs like crazy... 1/18/05 started daycare and I cried off and on for the first 2 weeks….in infant room-nice room lots of toys, has own crib and cubby area... Teachers: Rosie, Gloria,Pat. Max is in there too. First cold came with it too....germy kids.... 1/28 first visit to the emergency room due to non stop wailing and had been sick for awhile. We though ear infection….we were wrong so home at 2 in the morning! Maybe a cold??…ahhhh teething!

December 2004

Cameron is now 4 and a half months old officially! He has changed before my eyes. Still not a chubby baby…long and lean but definitely growing. He is so much so much more aware of everything and doesn't stop moving from the time he wakes until the time he exhausts himself by nighttime. Just when I think I have him figured out he does something different! He likes hearing his own voice and has begun to drool all over the place! We think maybe he is teething but not quite sure yet. We took him to Grandma and Grandpa Skime’s for Thanksgiving but I think that he missed his swing and playmat and we messed his schedule up and he decided to stay awake 15 hours of the day…..tired baby meant unhappy baby and he freaked out! Needless to say we did get some parent time alone together and went to Santa Barbara for lunch, walked around and had a dinner out at the Lobster Trap. I took Cameron to get photos taken for Xmas and he was such a ham for the camera! He smiled perfectly for 5 out of 6 shots taken and they turned out so cute!
I have to go back to work the 13th of Dec. for one week and Grandpa Skime will be babysitting I am sure he'll have fun!
.......continuing from where I left off......Grandpa ended up getting sick..I think from Cameron! I hated my week at school. It was like walking around in a fast paced haze and I knew it would be hard but by Tuesday I had broken down in tears. The only saving thing was that I only had one week of it then another month of break. I had a math training one day and came home to pump then went back…ah yes pumping is another adventure…one that when I tell him my sacrifices for him... it will be one that is stressed ha! Took Cameron shopping together for Christmas. Happy as can be as long as the stroller was in motion! We went to Toy’s R US together and we looked at loud obnoxious talking toys and he loved Winnie the Pooh…"the bees on my shirt are shining brightly ..oh so brightly…buzz buzz..buzz!" "Oh I think the bees like you"...Do you see what my days are filled with ha! He squealed with delight so we got it..that and 3 other noisemakers! We had Christmas at our house this year. G&G Skime came down several days early to see him, G&G Gordon came Christmas day with Uncle Tony and Great Grandma Gordon. We had made enough food for an army….Chris picked a bunch of recipies. So good!
Dec. Highlights: extra drooly-teething has begun!..., He met his great grandma Peterson for first time!, got first official cold, back to work for one week-grandpa Skime babysat and got cold from Cameron, first Xmas-loves wrapping paper-spoiled with toys, books, clothes and college fund money, can roll either way, push chest off floor with arms, loves to stand with help, discovered feet and loves to eat them, pooping more often now...mmm formula, got you to bed on our anniv..we had bottle of wine and played playstation:), teeth hurt...
